Wellness

The Student Association (SA) passed legislation calling on Syracuse University to consider ways to implement more wellness days throughout the academic year.

As students, we know all too well how difficult these last 18-months, and this semester, have been. With increased awareness about mental health & college burnout, and breaks being few & far between, we recognize something must be done. SA is open to working with faculty and staff to determine the best possible pathway to achieve this goal.

 

UPDATE (as of April 13th, 2022): the University Senate passed a resolution to bring back two wellness days for the Fall 2022 semester. The resolution plans to add one wellness day on Indigenous Peoples Day and the other wellness day on the day following: creating a four-day weekend, or a “Fall Break,” for students, faculty, and staff. This is immense progress, but we can and must do more to ease students’ stress throughout the semester.
